Overview

The Neonatal Orientation Education Program (NOEP) delivers foundational knowledge and skills required for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to work in the neonatal environment. The program supports RNs and LPNs to advance their clinical judgment, critical thinking, and clinical leadership to work collaboratively with the interprofessional team. Whether you are a new graduate, new hire, or are very experienced in this environment, this program will enhance your understanding of theoretical concepts and best practice guidelines.

This program is designed using the academic content of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) Neonatal Orientation and Education Program, Fifth Edition (NOEP5). The program also incorporates content from the Nova Scotia Reproductive Care Program online education modules, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and ACoRN education program. This material provides nurses with the theoretical knowledge needed to provide neonatal care. The content can also be used for perinatal continued education. The program includes self-directed learning modules with online independent study.
