Internationally Educated Health Care Professionals

GlobeWe are pleased to offer many services for health care professionals who received their initial education in a country other than Canada. We also provide supports to IENs as they integrate into the work setting in Canada.

For IENs who have not yet met eligibility requirements by a regulatory body to write the NCLEX-RN, we have other services. The Maritime Assessment Centre provides competence assessments to those IENs referred by a regulatory body. The RN Bridging/Re-entry Program offers courses designed to help IENs meet entry-level requirements of Canadian nursing practice. These courses may be taken by IENs as required by the regulatory body. IENs may also self-refer to the courses to meet learning goals for current practice setting, or to help them to prepare for the NCLEX-RN.

Canadian Educated Nurses

We also provide services to Canadian educated nurses who have been educated at the Registered Nurse level. These nurses may be experiencing learning challenges in practice, or may be having difficulty passing the NCLEX-RN. The Maritime Assessment Centre provides competence assessments to Canadian educated nurses as referred by a regulatory body. The RN Bridging/Re-entry Program offers courses designed to help meet entry-level requirements of Canadian nursing practice, and/or to help to prepare for the NCLEX-RN.

We are pleased to offer our supports to any internationally or Canadian-educated nurse who needs assistance in meeting and/or maintaining current competencies for nursing practice and welcome interested parties to contact us.
